
Two-thirds of the world’s population of blind and visually impaired persons are women.
In the United States alone, 3.4 million Americans suffer from visual impairment, 2.3 million of them being women.
The primary causes of vision loss in women are due to chronic disease, infection, uncorrected refractive error, trauma, or congenital defect. It estimated that three quarters of all visual impairment issues are preventable or correctable.
